Thoughts from a guy just trying to chase after God!

of doing the Daniel Fast and I can say a few things. God has made him self so real to me in these past 2 weeks. It began with just for the first time in my life being intentional about the time I spent with Him. Reading the word, spending time in prayer, and replacing the horrible behaviors I have with food with God. Then last Sunday at Church Timothy Carr and his family led worship and he prophesied over Erin and I and spoke of our life as if he had been living with us the last two years. He told us how God led us away from here on a path that we thought was His, but God sent us away to rid us of the fear of man and that out there they would have stolen my talent and used it for their own good. Now keep in mind this man has no idea that my family and I lived in Nashville for 18 months as I pursued the music industry. He then told us that God brought us back and was going to fill me with new songs of salvation and redemption and He was going to give me a deep understanding of this generation and how to reach them. So at this point I am weeping uncontrollably and he proceeds to tell us how God has placed a purity between Erin and I that will bind anything from tearing it apart and how our children were going to be like Olive shoots, a prayer Erin has prayed from Psalm 128:3 for years. 

I told Erin if I have ever doubted God’s voice, which I have more than I have trusted, I never will again. Not after he used Tim Carr to speak into our lives like that. So to say the least this last week we have been rejoicing in what God is doing, while Satan has tried to trip us up with stress and doubt that so many are feeling. But in the midst of that God has gone on to bless us over and over with blessings beyond compare. We are so excited about what God has in store for our lives this year. Tim, our pastor, spoke the word Momentum into our church for 2009. How God is building Momentum into our lives for His great purposes. I believe that and I am holding fast to that. I believe God is going to do great things in my life and the life of my family as well as an amazing working in this City and World. God is desiring to use His bride, the body of Christ, to win back the world He created and I for one am ready to do whatever God ask me to do to help that happen.

That is all I have for now, I will continue to share the journey we are on and we love hearing about what God is doing in your life. Your Blessed, remember that, cling to that. Serve God with all you have and be the Love that people need to see, hear and receive.

and we are still going strong in the Blair house. We have been participating for 3 days now in the Daniel Fast, and I have to admit it has been amazing so far. I was very nervous that I would be craving chicken wings, steak, bacon, potato chips, and all the other foods that have added crap that our bodies don’t need and I have found that I actually love the natural foods God has given us. In just 3 days I have learned that I like to eat things like, zucchini, avocado, hummus, dates, as well as soy milk and other all natural foods. 

Now eating the things God created for us has been awesome, but the main reason we are participating in this fast is to draw closer to God and to press into Him so that we can better understand His desires for our lives and our desire to see God do amazing things in this city and world. We are already seeing God give us clear direction and guidance for next steps in our life and we are so excited about 2009. So I haven’t posted on here in a while and I decided that I would actually use my blog to share with you the exciting journey my wife and I are beginning tomorrow. We are joining with a group of believers from Life Community Church in Wilmington, NC to begin the Daniel fast tomorrow. If you read Daniel Chapter 1 verses 8-20 you will find the story of Daniel and his three friends Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego and how they refused to eat the choice food and wine from the kings table because they believed it would defile their bodies. Instead they asked to only be given vegetables and water. The guards feared if they did this that Daniel and his friends would look sickly, but agreed to test them for a week and when that week was up Daniel and his friends were healthier and looked better than all the other young men. 

So we will be embarking on a similar journey as Daniel and his friends for the next 21 days. We will only eat fruits and vegetables and whole grains while drinking only water and 100% juices. So I ask for your prayers for Erin and I as we begin this journey. We do this for one reason and one reason only and that is to draw close to God and allow Him to have complete control. We desire to have our view of food and what we are putting into our bodies to be changed so that it reflects only what God would want us to put in, which are the things he created, fruits, vegetables and foods that don’t have added junk. 

I will be updating everyone on some of the cool things God teaches me during the next 21 days. It should be crazy, exciting, hard, spirit filled, life changing and amazing all wrapped into one.
