So I don’t have a hernia…..THANK YOU GOD!!

I know that is a weird title for a blog but I will explain. So as many of you know I have been working for my Grandfather at Hedquist Electronics, a local repair shop that has been in business 60 years. They repair TV’s, VCR’s, DVD players and audio equipment. They also sell new LCD’s. All of that to say my job is to order parts and lift the TV’s that come in for service. So since August I have spent my days lifting big screen TV’s as well as other TV’s in and out of our store, into peoples homes, lifting them up on to stands or work benches. During that time I have developed some lower back problems and 2 weeks ago I began to feel a discomfort and pain in my groin.

My first thoughts always go to the worst so I am thinking oh no what if I have cancer. Then I realized that is just fear trying to take over. Then someone mentioned I might have a hernia. So as I researched hernias I began to think that I just might have one. Last night Erin and I decided that I needed to go to the doctor and we had people praying for healing. This morning when I woke up and felt much better and I began to think maybe I just pulled a groin muscle or something since I have been lifting different to compensate for my back pain. So today I went to the Medac and it was confirmed no hernia!! But I do have a pulled and possibly torn groin muscle. So yes there is discomfort and some pain, but there is also a lot of rejoicing in the fact that God continues to provide.

Some of you may read that last statement and say how did God provide? Well a hernia would have brought a need for surgery and a bill that we could not afford. It would also cost me time from work and that is something we cannot afford. So I thank you all for your prayers and thank God for His healing power.

On the other hand I will say that one cool thing God has been teaching me is that we are called to Praise Him. Not asked or even suggested, it is a command to Praise God. We are commanded to Praise Him in every circumstance, so had it been worse than it was I would have still had to check my heart and make sure that I am Praising God no matter what I am going through. That is the encouragement I hope to leave you all with. Strive for Praise in all circumstances. Praise God not matter what and remember Hernia or Pulled muscle, cancer or perfect health, God is still worthy or and deserves all of our Praise.

Just some random thoughts of mine. Hope something in there speaks to you.

Blown Away….

February 14, 2009 at 12:55 am (Uncategorized)

by God and all that He is doing. A quick recap of the last 2-3 weeks.

- Ended the Daniel Fast on Super Bowl Sunday and led worship that Sunday at Life Community (Our amazing Church), received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and now nothing is the same. Since then I have seen God radically transform my life and walk. I now see what it means to be the man of God that He desires, and more appropriately requires me to be.

- Our married couples small group is rocking. I am talking about 6 couples just chasing hard after the heart of God. So cool to be a part of and lead.

- S0 pumped about leading worship the next two weeks at Life.

- We have built an amazing relationship with Tim and Harriet Blevins, the pastor @ Life, and their children Eli and Bailey. We are so excited about serving shoulder to shoulder with them for years to come.

- We are on this amazing marriage retreat this weekend.

I could keep going on and on but it is late and I just wanted to give a quick update to let everyone know the Blair’s are doing amazing and God is just blowing us away with how awesome He is. I will write again soon….
